LED Project

National Learning Network is a partner in the Learning Environment for Disabled Users (LED) project supported by the European Union’s Life Long Learning Programme. The aim of the project is to develop a best practice model for training to support people with disabilities towards integration into the labour market.

The project has six participant organisations from Italy, Northern Ireland, Germany, Slovenia and Republic of Ireland. All these organisations have experience and expertise in the area of disability. They have conducted a study of the labour market situation in their own countries and identified areas of best practice in a research report. A comparison of findings from each report was completed and a model of best practice was developed.

Each participant organisation tested particular areas of the model. The testing phase began in February 2013 with a series of staff consultation and training events. The testing phase continued to August 2013 and a final report was drawn up in September 2013
