Hotelier Francis Brennan Presents Bray National Learning Network Students with Certicates
Francis Brennan, Hotelier and star of RTÉ’s 'At Your Service' presented certificates to students from National Learning Network in Bray at a ceremony held today in the Royal Hotel, Bray. Over 70 students received FETAC and ECDL certificates.
Ruth Reynolds, a current student who received a FETAC certificate said, “I’m delighted to receive my certificate. Being a student in National Learning Network means the world to me because it has given me independence, confidence and work goals I never had. I am now doing things on my own which I did not think I could do a year ago.”
Deborah Coughlan, Area Manager, National Learning Network, said, “This is a wonderful day for the students receiving these nationally-recognised awards. It’s a testament to their commitment and hard work. It’s great to see them reaping the benefits of their learning, either in further education or in employment. All of the staff here in Bray congratulate them and wish them continued success in the future.”
National Learning Network is the training and education division of Rehab. The Bray centre, which is located on the Boghall Road, provides vocational and rehabilitative training to over 60 students. Many of those attending the centre have found themselves out of work because of an accident, illness or a disability. All are working towards getting back into the workplace or towards further education.
In attendance at the ceremony were past and present students of National Learning Network with their families and friends. Guests from Bray Town Council, FÁS, the HSE, County Wicklow VEC, Bray Partnership, Bray and District Chamber and Wicklow Supported Employment Network were also in attendance. Following the presentation of certificates, refreshments were served and guests had the opportunity to mingle with students and staff from the centre.
