It was a day of celebration in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk for over 100 students of National Learning Network in Dundalk who were presented with their FETAC certificates by guest of honour, Senator Mary Moran.

“Studying at National Learning Network has benefitted my life in so many ways”, remarked Seamus O’Grady, a past student of National Learning Network in Dundalk who attended the certification ceremony. “I’ve learned so much, gained vital work skills and gained so much confidence in myself. National Learning Network gave me a new beginning and who knows where it will lead me in the future.”

National Learning Network in Dundalk provides training courses funded by both the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board and the Heath Service Executive for the Louth area. These programmes are aimed at people who may have suffered a personal setback in their lives or who are unable to get back into the labour market due to an accident, illness or disability. Dundalk has a multi-disciplinary team who are involved in the delivery of a range of courses which include Access, Fresh Start, Employer Based Training and also Information Technology with Office Skills. All of these courses offer a link to local employment and education providers  to give each individual a new start in the labour market or to access  further education or training.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Senator Mary Moran said, “Today marks a wonderful achievement for the students and I am delighted to be here to congratulate them all as they receive their awards. National Learning Network has a strong record of supporting students to help them progress in their lives and enable them to either return to work or take their first steps towards employment or back in education. I would like to congratulate each and every one of the students and I wish them every success for the future.”

Cormac Woods, Area Manager of National Learning Network in Dundalk said, “This is a great a day of celebration for everyone who is receiving these nationally recognised qualifications. The students are being rewarded for the hard work that they have put in during their time with us. The skills they have developed will support them in whatever path they choose, be it moving into employment or going  onto further education. We hope that all of our students will enjoy the next steps that they are about to take and we wish them the very best for the future.”
