Regions to Benefit from Equality Scheme Funding
In these times of unprecedented economic challenge, it is essential to ensure that your business is best placed to maximise its business efforts and to place itself ahead of competitors. It’s all easier said than done. However, a new grant scheme for the border, midland and west regions is offering small and medium businesses the unique opportunity to set themselves apart by developing the best policies and procedures in relation to equality.
National Learning Network, the training and employment division of the Rehab Group, is seeking Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to avail of the free grant scheme which is designed to support companies in developing an equality infrastructure that is not only best practice in terms of human relations policies, but is also a necessity in ensuring legal compliance.
The scheme, which is administered by the National Framework Committee for Equal Opportunities, allows organisations to avail of up to five free consultation/training days to develop equality and dversity policies and training.
Helen Chan, Business Executive, National Learning Network, says: “The vast majority of businesses are not aware of equality legislation and how it impacts on their business. It is very important that all companies know what their legal obligations are in relation to this area, and that the policies they have in place address current equality legislation. Training for staff is also critical to ensure that they uphold these policies on a daily basis in their interactions with colleagues and customers.”
National Learning Network is the largest non-government training organisation in Ireland and a leader in the area of equality training and consultancy. Over the past eight years, National Learning Network has assisted organisations nationwide in developing and implementing business strategies in the area of equality.
As funding is limited, all SMEs interested in availing of this scheme must express their interest soon as soon as possible by contacting Dil Wickremasinghe or Helen Chan at National Learning Network on (01) 200 0130 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
